Our Board of Directors

SharingPoint is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors with a broad range of professional, commercial and industrial experience.

Aidan Horgan (Chairperson)

Aidan Horgan joined the SharingPoint Board in June 2019. Aidan has held a number of Senior Manager and Executive roles within 33 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry. His roles have included Head of Life Operations within Bank of Ireland Life, Operations Director with the Capita Group responsible for the Zurich International Business, and currently COO for Spry Finance. Aidan brings extensive stakeholder, project and operations management experience to the Board.

Miriam Hunt (Board Member)

Miriam joined the SharingPoint Board in January 2024. Miriam has worked with the Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) Fundraising Team as Strategic Giving Lead since April 2023. With a proven track record in community events & individual coordination, Miriam excels in designing & managing successful fundraising campaigns while enhancing stakeholder engagement. Miriam holds a BA in Visual & Critical Studies and an MA in Arts Management & Cultural Policy.

Elizabeth Jenkins (Board Member)

Elizabeth Jenkins, M.I.A.C.P. M.G.W.I.I. Integrative Counsellor Psychotherapist & Supervisor.

Elizabeth has over 25 years experience working with groups creating, facilitating and delivering courses on many levels of personal development, self-esteem and inner child. In recent years Elizabeth’s main body of work has been working with survivors of historical physical emotional and sexual abuse. Elizabeth works in private practice as an Integrative Counsellor Psychotherapist & Supervisor.

Seamus Hayes (Board Member)

Seamus is a community support assistant in the disability sector and has spent the last 17 years working in social care supporting clients to reach their full potential. He has been associated with Sharingpoint for the past 7 years and has found it to be a life changing experience and will bring this unique and important perspective to his board membership.

Susie Markey (Company Secretary)

Susie Markey is a compliance professional working in the financial services industry. During her career she has also worked in internal audit, operations management and project management roles.  She has extensive experience in overseeing internal operating controls, processes and practices and is a Certified Ethics and Culture Advisor and Licentiate of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland. Susie joined the SharingPoint Board in 2017.

Aidan Walsh (Treasurer)

Aidan joined the SharingPoint Board in July 2023. A Fellow of the Irish & British Computer Society and a Chartered IT Professional, Aidan has over 35 years experience working in various IT management and consultancy roles across public and private organisations in Ireland, the UK and internationally. Aidan previously supported Brother Kevin Crowley and the the great work of the Capuchin Day Care Centre for the homeless.

Our CEO (Padraig Langan)

Padraig is the co-founder and Chief Executive of SharingPoint and has over 30 years continuous experience in working with people affected by addiction, mainly through group work. He has been with SharingPoint since its foundation in 2002. He facilitated addiction recovery groups in the Rutland Centre for the previous 12 years. 

Padraig is an accredited member and past Chairman of Addiction Counsellors of Ireland.  He holds a distinction in his degree in Addiction Studies and has attended numerous educational seminars and training programmes on counselling / psychotherapy / addiction and group facilitation. 

Up to 2008, prior to taking up the position as full-time CEO of SharingPoint, Padraig worked as a senior Human Resource professional in Bank of Ireland in a career spanning twenty two years.

Our Facilitators

Our approach to date is to train suitable former clients to become the facilitators of our recovery groups. This practice ensures that all facilitators have extensive personal experience in addiction recovery and fully understand how we work with our clients.

Each facilitator is bound by a set of stringent requirements which include:

  • Attendance at monthly supervision sessions with a Clinical Supervisor accredited by Addiction Counsellors of Ireland
  • Attendance at fortnightly professional development sessions
  • Attendance at ongoing training and development seminars
  • Compliance with all SharingPoint’s policies including the code of conduct and code of ethics adapted from those developed by Addiction Counsellors of Ireland

All SharingPoint facilitators are fully covered by Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.
